The Big Hoot
Owl Black takes pride in its place in Eden Park’s reception area at Entry G.
Owls are icons of storytelling – well-known to represent wisdom, migration, diversity, learning and intelligence.
A stunning range of owls went under the hammer on Tuesday 29 May 2018 at the Haier Big Hoot Auction raising $382,450 for The Child Cancer Foundation. These funds were used to continue Child Cancer Foundation’s vital work – supporting 1700 families across New Zealand who are affected by child cancer.
Eden Park won the auction for Owl Black (pictured below). In this design the owl takes on the iconic black jersey which is no longer just a sporting symbol but representative of the values and pride of a whole nation, something not only recognisable by us as Kiwis, but also internationalyy as a sign of respect for our achievements as a country.
