Location: Dome 1, Staydium Glamping

This piece was created with an all-encompassing theme of Eden Park in mind. I wanted to capture Eden Park, not only as a stadium for sport, but also a landmark for the city and the diversity of other events that it hosts. The central microphone symbolizes the platform that Eden Park acts as for local community and celebration of shared space. This is surrounded by natural foliage and the silhouette of Maungawhau (Mt Eden), capturing the pockets of nature that surround the park.

The colour scheme utilises bright bold colours with life and vibrance, echoing the ethos of Eden Park in gathering community under one roof and bringing positive energy to the space.

He graduated from Elam School of Fine Arts at Auckland University, his practice since consisting of painting commissions and local murals as well as graphic illustration. Jerome’s style blends fine art with elements of street art. He was awarded the Snickel Lane Urban Art Award, has been a part of various group and solo exhibitions as well as running his own pop-up gallery on Symonds Street in Auckland city.

The Bowl

Location: Dome 2, Staydium Glamping

This piece was created to highlight Eden parks heritage and significance to the sport of rugby, being the home stadium to the infamous All Blacks rugby team that are famed for being one of the most successful sports teams in history.

I drew inspiration from classic newspaper cartoons that I used to see as a child in the herald, that vividly depict a loose, sketchy black and white style of imagery with a whimsical essence. This is visible in the use of linework, as well as the muted overtone of the color palate. The use of font, and the style in which the silver fern and old pig skin rugby ball are depicted, capture this vintage feel.
