Eden Park and Hato Hone St John extend long-standing partnership

Sep 18, 2025

Eden Park is pleased to confirm the continuation of its partnership with Hato Hone St John as the preferred event medical services provider. This renewed agreement builds on a long-standing relationship that has supported the safety and wellbeing of everyone at Eden Park, including fans, players, and staff.

Nick Sautner, Eden Park CEO, says, “Health, safety, and community wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do at Eden Park. Hato Hone St John has consistently provided professional and trusted medical support at our events, and we are pleased to continue working together. This ongoing partnership will also enable us to introduce several new initiatives that will strengthen on-the-ground support and deepen community engagement.”

One of the key initiatives is the introduction of an Event Health Service led Rapid Response Vehicle, which will be based onsite at Eden Park during major events. Located in the service road by the bus hub, the vehicle will be on standby to respond to 111 calls in the local area — a critical function during concerts and large-scale events when road closures may limit access. Through direct communication between Hato Hone St John dispatchers and Eden Park’s internal operations team, emergency responses can be activated quickly and efficiently, providing reassurance to the local community.

Beyond event-day support, the partnership also opens up new opportunities to engage with the local community.

“We are excited about potentially hosting a Family Day at Eden Park, which would include interactive elements such as Hato Hone St John’s 3 Steps for Life programme – a one-hour session teaching essential skills like CPR and how to use an AED. Whether delivered to local schools, community groups, or Eden Park Trust staff and their families, these sessions will be a practical and empowering way to promote community safety and confidence,” says Mr Sautner.

Natalie Lang, Hato Hone St John National Operations Manager of Event Health Services, says Eden Park holds a special place in New Zealand’s events landscape and acknowledged the longstanding partnership between the two organisations.

“Eden Park is an iconic venue, central to Aotearoa New Zealand’s event landscape. At Hato Hone St John, we are proud to play a key role in supporting the safe and successful delivery of major events by providing expert medical care and event health services.

“Our ongoing presence at Eden Park reflects our deep commitment to the health and wellbeing of our communities. We are honoured by the trust Eden Park and its board continue to place in us, and we look forward to supporting the success of future events with professional, responsive, and high-quality care,” says Ms Lang.

Together, Eden Park and Hato Hone St John remain committed to the health, safety, and wellbeing of those who visit, work at, or live near Eden Park — building on a strong foundation with initiatives that will have a lasting and positive impact.
