52 Matches Unbeaten. 31 Years. This Is Our Fortress.
Sep 27, 2025Tonight, Eden Park, New Zealand’s national stadium and the home of rugby in New Zealand, legends were made, memorable moments shared, and another chapter added to a proud history of success.
For more than three decades, the All Blacks have been undefeated at Eden Park, and this evening they extended their record to 52 consecutive tests unbeaten since 1994. This remarkable achievement is more than a statistic – it is part of the stadium’s story and a cornerstone of New Zealand’s sporting identity.
Tonight also showcased the depth of our game, as the High School Old Boys Light Bears claimed a thrilling 24–19 victory over Pōneke Wanderers in the National Club Cup Final. Hosting this match alongside an All Blacks test showcases Eden Park’s role at every level of rugby – from grassroots to the international matches.
But Eden Park is more than a stadium. It is both a community asset for Auckland and a strategic asset for New Zealand. Each sold-out sports match supports thousands of jobs, boosts tourism and hospitality, and injects hundreds of millions into our city’s economy. Large-scale events deliver lasting benefits well beyond the final whistle – energising local businesses, attracting international visitors, and showcasing New Zealand on the world stage.
Eden Park is also a place where people come together – whether for grassroots rugby, school finals, international matches, cultural festivals, or world-class concerts. As New Zealand’s national stadium, Eden Park is committed to continuing this legacy – delivering unforgettable experiences, strengthening our communities, and ensuring that The Fortress remains a symbol of pride and possibility for the next 125 years.
This is our Fortress. This is Eden Park.
