The Freedom Cup Test against South Africa on Saturday 6 September will mark the Springboks’ first appearance at Eden Park since 2013, while the Bledisloe Cup clash against Australia on 27 September will feature a family-friendly kick off time of 5:05pm.
Eden Park CEO Nick Sautner said, “Eden Park has been at the heart of New Zealand’s most memorable rugby moments and we’re delighted to be hosting these historic matches, welcoming thousands of rugby fans to see the All Blacks take on two of their greatest opponents.
“Eden Park is the spiritual home of New Zealand rugby and holds a special place in the history books of the All Blacks,” Sautner continued. “The All Blacks haven’t lost a game at the Fortress since 1994. This year, the team extended their unbeaten record to 50 matches – a remarkable 30-year streak which has played out on our hallowed turf and reflects the special connection between Eden Park and the team.”
Commenting on the 2025 domestic schedule:
All Blacks Head Coach Scott Robertson said: “Playing at home and representing your country in front of New Zealanders is always special and especially so against three of our most traditional rivals. France, South Africa and Australia will each bring unique challenges and that’s exciting for us as we continue to build our game in 2025.”
New Zealand Rugby (NZR) CEO Mark Robinson said: “It’s a huge year for the Black Ferns with the Rugby World Cup and the 2025 schedule is a chance for fans across the country to get behind the team as they prepare to win their title in England. The support of New Zealanders means a huge amount to our teams in black and the double-header at Sky Stadium in Wellington will be a special occasion for both teams. “For the All Blacks there is a rare opportunity to host three of our greatest rivals in the same year as we welcome France, South Africa and Australia. These traditional rivalries will always be special and we look forward to a continuation of the entertainment and drama we saw during 2024.”
