Eden Park to host the DHL Super Rugby Pacific season final

Jun 17, 2024

Home of Blues Rugby, Eden Park is gearing up for a massive game this Saturday as it hosts the 2024 DHL Super Rugby Pacific final between the Blues and the Chiefs. Kick-off is at 7.05pm and with an anticipated sell-out crowd, fans are encouraged to get their tickets early.

Eden Park CEO, Nick Sautner expressed his excitement for the highly anticipated “Battle of the Bombay’s” finals clash, promising a historic match for rugby fans. “With the Blues on an impressive 15-game winning streak at Eden Park, we’re expecting an unforgettable event. Tens of thousands of Blues and Chiefs fans will pack the stands so the atmosphere at the stadium will be electric.

“It’s games like this one that make Eden Park the heart of rugby in New Zealand,” Sautner added.

As the Blues look to clinch the championship on their home turf, they face the challenge of overcoming the Chief’s and their passionate supporters. “For the Blues, playing at home will be a huge advantage, but we expect the team will need to work hard to rise above the sound of the cowbells coming from the Chief’s supporters,” he noted..

Reflecting on a memorable season at Eden Park, Sautner highlighted the significance of this final. “Earlier this year we hosted the Super Rugby Aupiki final between the nib Blues and Chiefs Manawa – a game that celebrated women’s rugby and built on the momentum of the three women’s world cups held at Eden Park over the past few years, including the very memorable 2022 Rugby World Cup final with the Black Ferns becoming world champions at the Fortress.

“Now with this men’s final, we continue to showcase the passion, pride, and competitive spirit that define New Zealand rugby at Eden Park. This isn’t just a game; it’s an event that brings communities together and celebrates our rich rugby heritage,” said Mr. Sautner.
