On Sunday 29 March, beloved children’s entertainer, Emma Memma will bring her love of dance, sign language and music to Eden Park for a special live performance created especially for young children and their families.
From picnic dances to catchy, twirly tunes, Emma Memma and her friends will transform New Zealand’s national stadium into a giant picnic and performance space designed especially for young children and their families. Families are invited to pack a picnic and roll out their blanket to enjoy the experience on the hallowed turf.
The event ‘Emma Memma’s Picnic at Eden Park’ is presented by tonies®, the world’s largest interactive audio platform for kids. Excitingly, every attending family will be receiving a goodie bag filled with surprises thanks to this partnership. Gates open at 10.00am, with performances beginning at 11.00am.
Emma Memma says performing at Eden Park is a special opportunity to create a joyful and inclusive experience for children and families in an iconic setting.
“This picnic at Eden Park is about taking a moment and sharing something special together,” says Emma Memma. “Through movement, music and visual communication, children are invited to dance in the open air, enjoy the space and connect with their family and friends. Turning Eden Park into a space where little ones can dance and play right on the grass is going to be a truly beautiful moment for families.”
Nick Sautner, Chief Executive of Eden Park, says the event reflects Eden Park’s role beyond sport and major events.
“Eden Park is where memorable moments happen. As a valued community asset for Auckland, we are delighted to provide opportunities for people to experience those moments in different ways,” says Sautner. “Emma Memma’s Picnic is about opening the gates to families, creating memorable first experiences at the stadium, and offering a diverse range of content that reflect the communities we serve.”
tonies® says the event perfectly reflects their commitment to screen-free, imaginative play and celebrates their special connection with Emma Memma, following the launch of her Tonie last year as the very first Australian artist Tonie.
“At tonies®, we believe in the power of stories, music, play and creativity to bring families together – and we are proud to champion local talent and artists along the way,” said Mark Duggan, General Manager, tonies® Australia & New Zealand. “Emma Memma’s Picnic at Eden Park brings that spirit to life, and we’re thrilled to help create an experience where children can move, play and imagine in such an iconic community setting.”
“As a Kiwi, Eden Park holds a deep personal meaning for me. It’s the backdrop to so many special memories,” Duggan added. “To now bring a tonies® moment to Eden Park with Emma Memma & Friends is incredibly exciting, and we hope it becomes a lifelong memory for parents and children alike.”
