Eden Park celebrates another All Blacks win
Jul 13, 2024Tonight, Eden Park lived up to its global reputation as a fortress with over 48,000 fans watching the All Blacks win against England and extend their unbeaten streak at the stadium to 49 games.
“Eden Park is the spiritual home of New Zealand rugby and holds a special place in the history books of the All Blacks,” said Nick Sautner, Eden Park Chief Executive. “There’s a whole generation of All Black fans who have never experienced defeat at Eden Park and I can’t think of any other sports team in the world that has maintained an unbeaten record at their national stadium like the All Blacks have.
Tonight’s sold-out match was yet another unforgettable game that continues a 30-year legacy.
Mr Sautner adds, “This game against England was particularly poignant especially following the unforgettable women’s Rugby World Cup Final in 2022, where the Black Ferns defeated the Red Roses at Eden Park. Tonight’s win by the All Blacks has ensured Eden Park remains a fortress.
“The close game last weekend, which saw only one point separating the teams (16-15), certainly set the stage for tonight’s encounter. The introduction of the shot clock on our state-of-the-art super screens definitely added to the fan experience and we’re thrilled to have been able to assist NZ Rugby to make this happen in time for the game,” said Mr Sautner.
For fans who missed out on tickets to tonight’s game, the All Blacks are playing Argentina at Eden Park on 17 August with tickets available via Ticketek.
Eden Park continues to be a beacon of sporting excellence, not just in New Zealand but globally. As we look forward to more historic moments, we invite everyone to join us and be a part of the legacy.
