Hands Together is a community artwork created at the Resene Kids Corner at Art in the Park 2022 and inspired by the work of Art in the Park artist Agate Rubene.

Children visiting the Resene Kids Corner at Art in the Park 2022 were encouraged to create an artwork that would form this Hands Together community art piece! Over 300 canvas bags were painted by the kids representing something they treasured, then photographed before the kids took them home full of goodies. The digitised artworks were then placed into the distinctive hand stencils from Agate Rubens’s artwork, and designed into this beautiful spiral, symbolising connection.

Hands Together is representative of how Eden Park brings people together from all colours of life, to celebrate a shared interest. Whether it’s for art, a concert or sports, it’s time to put your Hands Together!
