Eden Park is the first stadium in Australasia to achieve ISO 45001:2018 certification, an internationally recognised standard for occupational health and safety management systems.
The certification recognises Eden Park’s commitment to providing a safe environment for employees, athletes, performers, partners, volunteers and the thousands of fans and guests who come through our national stadium’s gates every year.
ISO 45001 is the global benchmark for occupational health and safety management systems and demonstrates Eden Park has robust processes in place to identify, manage and continually improve health and safety performance across all areas of its operation.
The certification was awarded following an independent audit of Eden Park’s health and safety management systems, policies and workplace practices.
Nick Sautner, Eden Park CEO says achieving ISO 45001 certification reflects the stadium’s ongoing commitment to ensuring safety and wellbeing remains its highest priority.
“As New Zealand’s national stadium, we host a diverse calendar of events ranging from international sport and major concerts to community activities and business events. Regardless of the event, the safety and wellbeing of our people, partners and visitors will always remain our highest priority
“On an event day, Eden Park operates like a temporary city, bringing together transport, security, medical teams, contractors, staff, broadcasters, athletes, artists and tens of thousands of visitors in a live environment. Ensuring those moving parts work safely and effectively requires more than processes on paper, it requires leadership, discipline, accountability and a culture where safety is embedded in the way we operate every day.
Sautner says the certification is an important milestone, but also part of Eden Park’s ongoing health and safety journey.
“While we are proud to have achieved this milestone, health and safety is an ongoing journey. ISO 45001 reinforces the strong foundations we have in place, while supporting our commitment to continually review, strengthen and improve our systems, processes and culture.
The certification further strengthens Eden Park’s position as a leading multi-purpose venue and demonstrates its commitment to operational excellence across every aspect of the business.
